Xiao Xingxing (小星星, Xiǎo Xīngxing), also known as the conjectural English name Twinkle, is a character introduced in Marching to the New Wonderland.

Personality[]

Xiao Xingxing sleeps during the day and is active at night, possessing the ability to glow. He is a lonely little firefly, ostracized and despised by the firefly community because he cannot glow. He has never known what it feels like to have friends. Xiao Xingxing’s greatest wish is to be like his grandfather, a firefly capable of illuminating the entire Big Tree. He often practices trying to glow but always fails.

During the lunar eclipse crisis, Wolffy captures all the fireflies and plans to extinguish their light. To save his good friend, Weslie, Xiao Xingxing emits the strongest glow of his life on the night of the lunar eclipse, illuminating the entire Big Tree, resolving the crisis, and earning the recognition of the entire firefly community.

From then on, the fireflies acknowledge Wolffy as the villain and pledge to help the little goats against him. Thanks to Weslie, Xiao Xingxing also becomes good friends with the other little goats. Whenever they need help, Xiao Xingxing will unhesitatingly assist them.

Trivia[]

In his Chinese name, “Xiao” means little, and “Xingxing” means star.
