The Little Detective (羊羊小侦探, Yángyáng Xiǎo Zhēntàn) is the seventeenth donghua installment in the Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf franchise, and the fifteenth entry in the main series.
The donghua was filed by CPE in November 2014 and its poster was displayed at the 4th iQiyi Fun Carnival in December 2015.
The donghua was issued two distribution licenses: (Yue) Dong Shen Zi [2016] Di-023 Hao for episodes 1–24, and (Yue) Dong Shen Zi [2016] Di-026 Hao for episodes 25–60. On July 7, 2016, it was officially announced that the donghua would air on CCTV-14 starting from July 9. The broadcast had no subtitles, airing 7 episodes daily, with the entire donghua completing on July 17. Several other TV channels began airing it at a later date with simplified Chinese hard subtitles. In December 2016, the complete donghua was released on multiple Chinese mainland streaming platforms with the same subtitles.
In 2019, the donghua was dubbed into Korean by KBS and aired on the KBS Kids channel as well as multiple South Korean streaming platforms. The Korean dub also included a cover of the theme songs.
Plot[]
Mindless detective Murphy is sent to Green Green Grassland to investigate cases. Wolffy and Weslie are selected to be junior detectives to assist him. However, Wolffy arrests the innocent at will in order to raise his rate of solving crimes while Weslie fights for truth to help residents on Green Green Grassland. An intense reasoning competition begins between Weslie and Wolffy. Weslie is considerate enough to make good use of scientific thinking to help him observe and solve the cases. That’s why he always close the cases successfully in the end and becomes a great detective on Green Green Grassland.[1]
