Summary[]
Weslie, Paddi, and Wolffy arrive in Rainbow City and are excited to see what it’s like. A photographer bird from the city keeps asking them for a photo, which annoys Wolffy. Wolffy then asks that the goats don’t wander off anywhere, but by that point Paddi has already found a food stand and is asking to try the rainbow watermelon. Weslie and Wolffy drag him off so that the three can go start looking for the rest of the goat team, with Paddi complaining that he hasn’t gotten his watermelon yet.
As the three are walking through the city, Paddi notices some hoofed-shaped fireworks going off in the distance and assumes that they must have friends over there. The photographer from earlier tells them that the fireworks are being set off by the most famous group of seven in Rainbow City and offers to give the goats and Wolffy a photo of the seven, but only if they agree to let him take a picture of them. The three agree, but as the photographer takes their picture, the developed photos in his camera fly out, so the goats and Wolffy help him to pick them up. Wolffy picks up a picture featuring seven birds with different colored hair, with the photographer saying they are known as the Rainbow Beans, and Wolffy runs off with the goats to go find them, not letting the photographer finish taking photos of them.
As the trio start to go look for the seven, Weslie asks if Wolffy should go look for Wolnie and Wilie first. Wolffy says that he has decided to help him and Paddi for the time being since they were both nice to him, and three continue walking through the city when Paddi spots some elderly birds with the same colored hair as the birds in the photo that Wolffy picked up. Wolffy shouts at Paddi that those aren’t the birds they’re looking for. Out of nowhere, seven bean-shaped humanoids appear behind Paddi and introduce themselves as Red Bean, Yellow Bean, Green Bean, Blue Bean, Orange Bean, Turquoise Bean, and Purple Bean. The bean people explain that the goats and Wolffy looked like they were playing a game and wanted to join too, so Weslie asks them if they’ve seen the birds in their photo, sending them and the bean people running all over Rainbow City to find them. Once Weslie realizes they’ve all made it onto a brick bridge they’ve been on before, Wolffy asks if the bean people actually know the birds they are after. The bean people tell him they do, but that doesn’t mean they know where they are and they will keep looking for them. Orange Bean spots the birds from the photo on the ground, exiting a vehicle and entering a building, so the gang all go towards the building. Once they are inside, the gang sees the birds entering the back room and continue to follow them to the back of the building, where one of the birds notices them. All the birds become scared that they have been found and prepare to leave in their van; the bean people try to reach the van to stop them, but they fail. The beans assure Weslie, Paddi, and Wolffy that they can go find them even after Weslie asserts that they can take care of it, and the beans fall into a hole as they run off to resume the search.
Later, the beans become tired and take some time to rest. Wolffy tells Weslie and Paddi that he thinks the beans will hinder their progress in finding the seven birds and distracts them by throwing his pocket watch far from Rainbow City and telling the beans he has lost it. The beans go to look for the watch, and the goats and Wolffy head off in a different direction, but Red Bean returns with the rest of his gang to return the watch they found. Wolffy tries to use a similar distraction by convincing them that his bike is lost, using the logic that the beans can’t find his bike at all since he doesn’t have one; that doesn’t work, and the beans find him a bike anyway. Wolffy keeps giving the beans different things to find, with all of the objects in question being found and brought to Wolffy. Wolffy then finds a green apple and tries to convince the beans that he has lost a red apple, not related to the green apple he is holding. Red Bean uses a special pen to change the color of the apple from green to red, so as a last resort, Wolffy decides to set up a “game” where he and the beans are a separate team from Weslie and Paddi, and the two teams are tasked with finding the birds first.
Weslie and Paddi are walking through the city once more, where they find the seven rainbow birds again. The goats follow the birds into another building, when suddenly they hear screaming coming from the inside of the building and go to investigate. Inside, the two find some bird bullies who have tied up what looks like Tibbie, and Weslie fights off the bullies before finding out that the person resembling Tibbie is actually a bird girl. The seven rainbow-haired birds arrive to fight off the bullies themselves, only to find Weslie and Paddi have already done it. A director is angry at the goats for ruining their filming, but the seven birds are convinced that the goats are their fans and offer to give them an autographed group photo of themselves, then turn out surprised when Weslie mentions he’s only interested to know if they were the ones setting off the fireworks earlier. The photographer bird from earlier finds the goats and informs them that they had the wrong picture; the picture they used was of the Rainbow Boys, the photographer’s idols, and the photo they were supposed to have was of the bean people that started following them around.
While waiting for Wolffy and the Rainbow Beans, Weslie and Paddi find Wolnie walking through the city and agree to help Wolffy by following her.
