General Li (力将军, Lì jiāngjūn) is a character from The Great Rescue. He is the general in charge of guarding the Qili Stone Processing Factory (located in Wangming Volcano) in Miaogou Kingdom.
Appearance[]
Tall with a mix of dark brown and reddish-brown fur and a strong build. He sports abundant, long, slightly spiky hair and deep green eyes. His upper body is clad in black, high-waisted armor with silver shoulder plates, a red cape, and a light purple wristband; a belt bearing the General Li emblem embedded with Qili stones encircles his waist, and he wears black shoes.
In his youth, he was skinny and small, with sparser fur, a red scarf, and a sleeveless white top with yellow stripes.
After absorbing Dark Force and undergoing a transformation, his fur turns pink.
Abilities[]
He wields powerful mystical energy. Extremely agile, he possesses formidable offensive and defensive skills as well as exceptional physical strength. His weapon is a silver hammer capable of emitting black light for attacks, effective both in melee and at range.
Personality[]
Calm and imposing, meticulous, rational, and patient—with a cool exterior and a warm interior. He can be somewhat arrogant and has an intense reverence for strength. Although he values loyalty, he once believed that sacrificing a few for the greater good was sometimes necessary; his views gradually evolved. Deeply loyal to his country, he initially shouldered the entire responsibility for its protection before later sharing that duty with his close friends. He also exhibits a scheming side and has a habit of keeping a diary.
In his youth, he was immature, willful, picky, playful, and a bit tsundere, yet he harbored great ambitions.
Background[]
He is a prince of Miaogou Kingdom. In his childhood, he was picky and playful, and became friends with Wangcai. As he grew up, he trained to strengthen his physique and vowed to protect Wangcai.
When Dark Force attacked Miaogou Kingdom, due to Wangcai’s protection making him the only general unaffected by the Dark Force, he pretended to obey the king while secretly deciding to obtain the sealed power to save the kingdom. In a flashback in “Cats and Dogs Cooperation” (The Great Rescue, episode 26), he and Wangcai launched a surprise attack on Qimao Kingdom, capturing the two cat sisters, Mingri and Haoyue. On their way back to the capital, the cat sisters engineered an escape; after witnessing Haoyue use mystical energy to absorb Wangcai’s Dark Force, General Li secretly took the unconscious Haoyue away, locked her up, and schemed to collaborate with her. While managing the third level, he issued the order to the craftsmen that “as long as you forge armor, you can leave” (though he rarely managed the workers himself), apparently seeking warriors to accompany him to break the seal. However, many craftsmen turned into stone due to volcanic ash, and little progress was made.

With Sparky[]
Initially, he valued Sparky’s abilities and intended to use him to break the seal. He believed they shared the same ideals, but differences in faction and principles turned them into adversaries. After being defeated, he acknowledged Sparky’s strength and convictions, learning the importance of cherishing one’s comrades, and later assisted in reactivating the seal.
With Paddi and Others[]
At first, he looked down on them, considering them weak, but later gradually came to recognize their strength.
With General Wangcai[]
A childhood friend and close buddy—Wangcai always had his back when he was bullied. Spurred by Wangcai’s encouragement, he began to train harder, aspiring to grow taller and stronger to protect him. The two share an unspoken bond, often sparring or engaging in leisure activities together. After Wangcai became corrupted, he was the first person General Li attempted to rescue. Learning from Sparky the importance of standing shoulder to shoulder with one’s comrades, he grew to value his good friend even more.
With Haoyue[]
After discovering that she could absorb Dark Force, he secretly placed her under house arrest at his residence, hoping she would cooperate in absorbing the Dark Force from Wangcai. However, due to misunderstandings and differing viewpoints, she repeatedly refused. Later, mutual affection developed between them—he would even shamelessly show off in her presence. It seems that after the conclusion, they will continue to maintain friendly relations.
With King of the Miaogou Kingdom[]
Father and son—in his early years, he served the King of the Miaogou Kingdom with utmost loyalty. When the king was corrupted, he pretended to obey while secretly devising every possible way to save him.
Trivia[]
- During the official 17th anniversary bilibili live stream, it was mentioned that General Li’s original prototype was a Tibetan mastiff; however, later design illustrations corrected his prototype to a Chihuahua.
- In the finale of The Great Rescue, his true nature—cold on the outside yet warm on the inside—seems to be revealed when he shamelessly showed off in front of everyone.
