Darker (夜太狼, Yè Tàiláng) is a character in the Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf series. He is the leader of the Seven Evil Wolves and Wolffy’s cousin.
Appearance[]
Darker is a gray wolf who wears a leather vest and matching brown pants, with a hairstyle is similar to Weslie’s. He often sports a pair of sunglasses, and he wears a belt around his waist and a black cape (although the cape was removed after Season 18). He also wears leather shoes.
Personality[]
Darker is a frivolous and fashionable with a strong sense of self-importance. He is shown to be arrogant, as he views himself as superior to the other six wolves in his group. Though he is too lazy to hunt sheep himself, he fantasizes about them willingly coming to him as prey. It is later revealed in Mighty Little Defenders that he has a passion for art and has aspired to be a painter since childhood, and he does not want to engage in violence in the first place.
Etymology[]
Yè (夜) means “night,” Tài (太) is often used to denote “big” or “great,” and Láng (狼) means “wolf.” Together, Yè Tàiláng can mean “Night Big Wolf.” The name Tàiláng (太狼) is also a pun on the common Japanese male name “Tarō.”

- Darker was originally Wolnie’s cousin, but he was later changed to be Wolffy’s cousin.
